INGREDIENTS ⠀


1/3 cup water⠀
1/3 cup almond milk ⠀
1/3 cup rolled oats⠀
1 tsp cinnamon⠀
1/2 apple, chopped into small chunks⠀
1/2 tsp vanilla extract ⠀
1-2 tsp maple syrup (or to desired sweetness)⠀
1 tbsp chopped nuts – almonds, walnuts, pecans ⠀


DIRECTIONS⠀


1. In a small pot over medium-high heat, boil water and almond milk. Add rolled oats and cook on low for about 5-10 minutes, stirring often. ⠀
2. Once oats soften and mixture thickens, add in chopped apples and vanilla. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until apples start to soften – If you want the apples to be cooked through, you can add them in at the beginning with the oats, but I like a bit of crunch.⠀
3. Pour into a bowl and top with maple syrup and chopped nuts.⠀
